K-12 Tutoring
The K-12 Tutoring program is an initiative from the Office of the President and Office of the Provost. This program is a collaboration between the Academic Success Center, and the College of Education, with support from Computing and Information Technology. Funding for the tutors was provided by the College of Education and the Irvin D. Reid Honors College. The program is to support children of Wayne State University students and employees. We recognize parents played a significant role in their children's learning during the pandemic. We salute you and are here to support you.
Tutors for the K-12 tutoring program are highly trained students from the College of Education. They are also in the pre-student teaching or student teaching phase and have completed a fingerprinted background check.
Tutoring is available primarily in the core subjects: English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Each one-on-one tutoring session is 30 minutes. You can book up to two appointments if you prefer an hour long session.
