Biography
Joan is an experienced event manager in the social, corporate, nonprofit and higher education sectors. She is an experienced communicator and community outreach specialist. Most recently, Joan worked in the WSU Law School as an event specialist. Previously, she headed ArtsCorpsDetroit, an arts-based community engagement program which was based in WSU's James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History. While with the art department, Joan coordinated four regional conferences and symposia. She has worked as an independent special programs manager and consultant and as an event manager for the Marriott Corporation. Joan is on the board of the Michigan Legacy Art Park in Thompsonville, MI. She holds a BFA in sculpture.
