Let It Rip: Back to school
Erika Bocknek, associate professor of educational psychology at Wayne State University, participated in a panel discussion about children and anxiety as the school year begins. The panel discusses changes in communication and empathy resulting from the pandemic, resolving conflicts and the difference between reacting and responding. “Empowering each person to take a step back and ask ‘Is this moment, this hill going to be the hill that I die on?’ and really think about their values, their priorities,” said Bocknek. “I say to my own kids, to kids I see in clinical practice, it gets better. It always gets better. Tomorrow is another day…”
