Alumnus receives award for best paper

Alumnus Ahmad Farooqi (Ph.D., '19) presented his paper, "Simulation and Comparison of Theil-Sen Regression, Theil-Sen Siegel Regression, and Quantile Regression with Outliers in Small Samples," at the 15th Islamic Countries Conference on Statistical Sciences in Pakistan last month. The Conference Scientific Committee selected his paper as the best among the nearly 200 that were presented. Farooqi - who earned his doctoral degree in Educational Evaluation and Research - received an award and was invited to be a guest speaker at the University of Management and Technology in Lahore. He acknowledged his advisor, Shlomo Sawilowsky, Ph.D., for his "great mentorship."
