Wayne State University's virtual job fair to feature a number of career opportunities

By Gina Joseph

A virtual job fair being hosted by Wayne State University College of Education, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 1 will be offering a variety of job opportunities for students and other individuals. "Even though we are working remotely, the college still wants to bring employers and potential employees together. Offering the job fair in a virtual format makes that possible," said Anita Welch, dean of education at WSU. "Districts in our area need talented individuals at all levels and for a variety of roles. We hope organizations and candidates take advantage of this opportunity to meet and network." Welch said the college strives to educate and expose its students with degrees in education and related fields to the wide variety of opportunities available. "On another level, we want to create a homegrown workforce of education professionals who can contribute to the growth and success of school districts and organizations throughout the state," said Paul Johnson, assistant dean of the Division of Academic Services. "We hope students, alumni and others interested in education careers will join us for our first virtual job fair, and we thank all the employers participating for their support."
