Congratulations to Dr. Kathryn L. Roberts, Assistant Professor, College of Education, Teacher Education Division, along with co-author Dr. Kristy A. Brugar, have been awarded the 2015 The Geography Teacher, Best Article Award from the National Council for Geographic Education. The article was chosen from all articles published in The Geography Teacher in 2014. A committee of teachers and university scholars agreed that the publication, "Navigating Maps to Support Comprehension: When Textbooks Don't have GPS," provided outstanding geographic content and instructional value to teachers.

Dr. Roberts will be honored at a special awards ceremony during the National Conference on Geography Education this summer in Washington, DC.
