College of Education Assistant Professor of Research Silverenia Kanoyton receives 2017 Women of Excellence from The Michigan Chronicle

The Michigan Chronicle, the region's oldest African-American newspaper, is honoring College of Education Assistant Professor Silverenia Q. Kanoyton, Ed.D., as a 2017 Women of Excellence. Kanoyton is the director and principal investigator of two State of Michigan, King-Chavez-Parks grants and co-principal investigator of a NSF grant entitled "Center for Advanced Automotive Technology." The Michigan Chronicle celebrates local African-American women who inspire others through vision and leadership, exceptional achievements, in business, education, community involvement, and philanthropy. Kanoyton was chosen from over 700 nominees and will join an elite group of the area's most influential women. The celebration will take place, Thursday, April 20, at MGM Grand Detroit.
