Courtney Morton is graduating with a bachelor of science in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise and sport science. She is a 2015 graduate of Avondale High School in Auburn Hills, Michigan. During her time at Wayne State, she has completed a rigorous pre-medical course load and achieved Dean's List honors five times.

Morton is a four-year member of the Wayne State Women's Golf team. She was recognized for all eight of her semesters on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll including one semester with a 4.0 grade-point average. During her athletic career, she was named to the GLIAC All-Excellence Team and has been awarded the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Morton has also been involved in extensive research with the School of Medicine and the College of Education's Division of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies (KHS). She was awarded the Undergraduate Research Award in Physiology from the American Physiological Society. She completed full-time research with the Department of Physiology through the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program. Her latest research contribution was with KHS on their virtual reality study.

Morton has served the community of Detroit in various ways. She has been an emergency room patient advocate with Harper Hospital, a student volunteer with the Veteran Affairs Hospital, and a mentor with FitKids360. She has also served with Life Remodeled Detroit and New Life Church Detroit.

Following graduation, Courtney is applying to medical school to pursue her goal of becoming a physician. She hopes to use her passion for wellness to improve the lives of others.
