College of Education Graduate Student Angela Palaian is accepted to the American Psychological Association Minority Fellowship Program

Graduate Student in Educational Psychology has been accepted to the American Psychological Association Minority Fellowship Program.

Angela will be working with Dr. Francesca Pernice-Duca in serving children and families in various intervention programs with mental health organizations in the city of Detroit and supplement her training with expertise in substance abuse assessment and interventions.

"Funded by a grant from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Minority Fellowship Program has created the Services for Transition Age Youth (STAY) fellowship to support the training of master's level practitioners in mental health services. This fellowship is designed for students in terminal master's programs in psychology whose training prepares them to provide mental health services to ethnic minority transition age youth (ages 16 through 25) and their families."
