Congratulations to Stiles Simmons, Ed.D. - a three-time alumnus of the Wayne State University College of Education - on beginning his new role as superintendent of the Westwood Community School District this week! Prior to this appointment, he worked for the Detroit Public Schools as an elementary teacher and Reading First Literacy Coach, served as chief administrative officer at Mosaica Education, Inc. in Washington, D.C., and was a principal and superintendent in the Baldwin Community School District. Simmons earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and an Ed.D. in Reading, Language and Literature from the college. We are so proud of him and wish him continued success.
