Emily Cizmas, a doctoral student in Teacher Education receives two prestigious awards

Please join us in congratulating Emily Cizmas, a doctoral student in the Division of Teacher Education, for winning two prestigious awards! Emily received the Shell Science Teaching Award, which recognizes one outstanding classroom teacher (grades K-12) who has had a positive impact on his or her students, school and the community through exemplary science teaching. She will receive $10,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to attend the National Science Teachers Association's National Conference on Science Education. At the most recent Michigan Science Teachers Association conference, Emily also won the Teacher of Promise Award. A former Woodrow Wilson Fellow, she teaches science in Lincoln Park Public Schools. We are so proud!
