NBC News Learn, the education division of NBC News, is hosting a discussion on education issues impacting students in the Detroit area on Thursday, October 24, 2019, from 6:50 to 9 p.m. Sarah Winchell Lenhoff, Ph.D., assistant professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, will be a featured speaker on the Here to Stay panel. Discussion will focus on the impact of - and local solutions around - chronic absenteeism and student mobility in metro Detroit. The Education Now Detroit event is a special live broadcast that will be moderated by NBC News Chief Education Correspondent Rehema Ellis with WDIV-TV 4 Anchor Kimberly Gill. It will be held in the Anderson Theater at The Henry Ford, located at 20900 Oakwood Blvd. in Dearborn. Doors open at 6:15 and close at 6:45 p.m.
